The Huskers started Tuesday by completing the suspended second round with a 283 team score. The second round had been interrupted on Monday afternoon by lightning in the <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Denver area and was suspended Monday evening because of darkness. The strong second round moved the Huskers into second place heading into Tuesday’s final round, however, Nebraska slipped back three spots after the third round.

Nebraska’s final score of 870 left it eight strokes behind team champion Arizona and Hawaii who each finished three rounds of play at 862. Arizona won the team crown by winning a playoff. Southern Utah (864), Towson (868) and Nebraska rounded out the top five in the 16-team field.

Individually, Nebraska was paced by Judd Cornell and Brady Schnell who both finished in a tie for 10th place after completing three rounds at even-par 216. Schnell completed a second round of two-under par 70 in the morning on the 7,129-yard Riverdale Dunes Golf Course, but finished with a 75, falling back. Cornell also had a strong second round, posting a 71, before completing the tournament with a 73.

Sophomores Tom Bethel and Drew Reynolds each posted second round scores of 71, but posted a 75 and 77, respectively, in the afternoon. Bethel finished three rounds at 220 to tie for 29th place, while Reynolds tied for 43rd with a 223 total. Nebraska’s team lineup was rounded out by freshman Chris Bruening who finished three rounds in a tie for 55th place at 226, including rounds of 79 and 73 on Tuesday. Freshman Tyler Bishop competed as an individual for the Huskers and finished three rounds of play at 228 to tie for 60th place.
