Lincoln ? University of Nebraska third baseman Alex Gordon picked up another honor this week, as he was named to Baseball America’s Summer League All-America team.
The 16-member first-team was selected by the staff of Baseball America Magazine for their efforts in summer leagues around the nation. Gordon, who spent the summer playing for Team USA, batted .388 with four homers, 12 RBIs and 18 runs scored in 24 contests.
Gordon led Team USA to the FISU II World University Baseball Championship in late July, topping all players with a .524 average with two homers, five RBIs and eight runs scored in eight contests.
Gordon is the first Husker selected to the team since Aaron Marsden was tabbed as a second-team selection in 2002.
The Huskers open fall drills on Monday, Sept. 20, at Hawks Field.
