Underwood Promoted to Manager of Marketing Operations; Cuca Named Director of Skybox Services

Lincoln ? University of Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson announced Monday that Karen Underwood has been promoted to Manager of Marketing Operations, while Heidi Cuca will return to the Athletic Department and replace Underwood as Director of Skybox Services.

Underwood, who served as Director of Skyboxes Services since 1999, will work directly with Associate Athletic Director Paul Miles in coordinating day-to-day operations within the Marketing Department while working with existing and potential corporate sponsors.

Miles said Underwood’s organizational experience will be vital in helping the Marketing Department with its day-to-day operations.

"Karen’s promotion allows us to use her talent and organizational abilities to our fullest capacity within the Athletic Department," Miles said.

Underwood served as Nebraska Director of Skybox Services since the facility opened in the fall of 1999, working with skybox patron on issues regarding tickets, parking and catering, as well as coordinating events at Memorial Stadium.

Before joining the athletic department, Underwood was the coordinator of special events for the office of public relations at Nebraska, where she produced university-wide special events for the chancellor and senior administrators. She held that position from 1990 through 1998.

In Cuca’s new role within the department, she will serve as the contact for all skybox patrons regarding ticketing, parking and catering needs to enhance their game day experiences. In addition, she will be responsible for managing the skybox facilities, including the Osborne Era Club, Devaney Era Club and West Stadium Club, and serve as coordinator for athletic department events within both Memorial Stadium and the Bob Devaney Sports Center, including functions for the Husker Athletic Fund.
