Lincoln --- The Nebraska football team continued preparations for the season opener as it went through a two-hour practice in full pads Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
Following Wednesday's workout, Coach Bill Callahan announced junior center Richie Incognito has been indefinitely suspended.
"Unfortunately yesterday I had to indefinitely suspend Richie Incognito for repeated violations of team policies and rules," Callahan said.
Sophomore Kurt Mann will make his first career start at center Saturday when Nebraska takes on Western Illinois. Along with Mann, seniors Jake Andersen and Mike Erickson and juniors Brandon Koch and Seppo Evwaraye are scheduled to man the offensive line.
"This group has done a great job," Callahan said. "They have gotten a lot of reps and maximized their time on the field and in the meeting room."
Nebraska enters the opening weekend of the season, "relatively healthy going into this opener, with the exception of Jordan Adams," Callahan said.
The Huskers will go through another full practice on Thursday and will follow with a closed walk-through on Friday.
Saturday's game is set to kick off at 6 p.m. and is available on a pay-per-view basis on DirecTV (currently scheduled for channel 784) and Dish Network (currently scheduled for channel 458) along with several other participating cable systems. A full listing of cable providers carrying the game is available on Huskers.com.
