Holiday Inn to Sponsor Coach Callahan Charaties 5K Fun Run/Walk

It’s not too late to join in the fun. The first-annual Coach Callahan Charities 5K Fun Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, Aug. 21. Proceeds will be donated to the University of Nebraska Libraries Electronic Resources Fund and to Juvenile Diabetes. Coach Callahan is proud to announce that the event is sponsored by Holiday Inn.

Those fans wishing to support the charities and join in the fun are encouraged to pick up a registration packet between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at The Running Co. located downtown at 1213 Q Street.

Participants may also sign up at the beginning of the race site at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. The one-mile walk begins at 8 a.m., and the 5K run will kick off at 8:20 a.m. The race will begin outside of the UNL 501 building at 10th and Memorial Drive.

After the run/walk, all participants are invited to attend Coach Callahan’s football practice. Participants will need their race number for entry and should enter the stadium on the southwest corner (Gate 3). All participants will also receive a free T-Shirt

More than 700 participants have already committed to either the 5K Fun Run or the 1 mile walk. Parking is available in the parking garage on the west side of the stadium.

After practice, all fans are invited to join Coach Callahan and his staff for the annual Fan Day in the stadium. Players and coaches will be available for autographs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free.
