Lincoln-The Huskers finished their first week of fall camp Sunday, continuing to build on the progress made during the week.
“The guys worked really hard last week and they continue to work hard today,” Offensive Coordinator Jay Norvell said. “They are sore and a little bit tired mentally but we got a lot of good things accomplished today.”
The coaches again worked to install the offensive package, working again with specific situations.
“Today we covered short yardage and goal line and that is a huge situation for us,” Norvell said. “It was an important learning day for us.
The team came back from two-a-days Saturday tired but resilient.
“We are pushing them through,” Norvell said. “We are trying to utilize every moment that we can to put these guys in the situations they need to be in to win.
“Training camp is about executing when you are tired. Training camp is about pushing through with your teammates and learning how to find a way to make something work. They may be a little tired and a little sore, but they are also getting closer to learning how to accomplish what needs to be done together.”
The Huskers return to the practice field Monday morning as two-a-days continue, with the first session beginning at 8:45 a.m. and the second session at 3:40 p.m.
