Huskers Move Inside for Second Day of Fall Camp

Lincoln -- Rain sent the Nebraska football team inside Cook Pavillion Tuesday afternoon for a two-and-a-half hour practice on FieldTurf, as the squad continued with its second day of fall drills.

 

Head Coach Bill Callahan was upbeat about the offense’s progress in what he described as the “best day of practice since I’ve been here at Nebraska.”

 

“Our guys came out and hit the field very focused, concentrated and with a lot of energy,” Callahan said. “There were a lot of positive signs out of our throwing game. We still have a long ways to go, but from a quarterbacks perspective, how they functioned on the field, I thought it was excellent. We’re making strides.”

 

Following practice, the Huskers were paid a visit by 1968 Olympic Gold Medalist Charlie Greene, a former national champion sprinter for NU from 1965-67.

 

“It was great to have such a decorated athlete like Charlie come in and make such a positive presentation to our players today,” Callahan said. “It had an impact.”

 

Nebraska continues fall camp on Wednesday with a 2:45 p.m. practice. Defensive Coordinator Kevin Cosgrove and players will address the media following the workout.

The Nebraska Sports Information office would also like to apologize for an error on the cover of the 2004 football media guide. The date for the home matchup with Colorado is incorrectly listed as Saturday, Nov. 20, instead of the correct date of Friday, Nov. 26.
