Football 101 Filling Up Fast

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a part of Coach Bill Callahan’s first Football 101 for Women on Thursday, July 29. Space is limited to 1,000 participants, and those still interested in attending should call the Nebraska Football Office on Monday at (402) 472-3116 or see additional information on Huskers.com and CoachCallahan.com.

Football 101 for Women requires pre-registration, and currently there are women from 14 different states registered for this unique event.

Lincoln -- The University of Nebraska Athletic Department and CoachCallahan.com invite the women in the area to participate in Coach Callahan’s Husker Football 101 for Women.

The event will serve as an exciting way to educate female Husker football fans. All sessions in the clinic will be taught by Coach Callahan and his staff.

Events will begin on Thursday, July 29, 2004 with check-in at the Embassy Suites Hotel Convention Lobby from 2-3 p.m. and an opportunity to participate in the Tunnel Walk with tours beginning at 3 p.m.

Coach Callahan will kick off the clinic at 4:30 p.m. with opening comments. Following kick off, women will learn the rules and officiating during the first quarter, see the training room, a uniform demonstration by Husker football players and Coach Dave Kennedy will explain strength and conditioning during the second quarter. At half-time there will be a tailgate party dinner buffet, which is included with registration, at 6:15 p.m. For the third quarter women will split into groups according to previous football knowledge: Redshirt (beginners), Special Teams (intermediate) or Starters (advanced) for a more in-depth look at Division I College Football. The evening will conclude with fourth quarter closing comments by Coach Callahan and the Spring Game Highlights Video.
