North Stadium Construction Update

Lincoln -- The speakers and scoreboard were removed off the roof of the north fieldhouse to enable the continual dismantling of the building.  The scoreboard has been removed in pieces with the speakers being preserved for installation on the East side.  Removal of the scoreboard framing was completed on Tuesday.

The north portion of the surface on Avery Avenue will be removed as construction begins to focus on earth work and back fill for the two-story portion of the new indoor workout facility.  Avery Avenue is closed to all traffic and is inside the construction zone.

Progress continues at a rapid pace on the Howard and Rhonda Hawks Championship Center.  The color of the metal roof will be acrylic coated galvalume which is a silver metal. The outer wall color, which will match the West Stadium, is called "city loft" and is a light beige. The precast and hard coat plaster portion of the building will match the precast on the West Stadium and is "stucco greige" which is a darker beige. The red brick will match the brick from the old fieldhouse.
