Aubry Gains National Team Experience

Lincoln - Nebraska's Chelsea Aubry gained valuable international experience while playing for the Canadian Senior National Team against the Japanese Olympic Team in early June.

Aubry, a 6-2 sophomore forward, helped the Canadians to a 3-1 series win over the Japanese in a four-city exhibition tour in British Columbia, June 5-9.

The Kitchener, Ontario, native averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in nearly 14 minutes per contest for the Canadians.

Aubry was one of 17 players to earn a spot on the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team roster for a summer exhibition tour.  She joined the Canadians for training camp at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C., May 19-June 3, before beginning the four-game series with the Japanese.

The three-week long stay in British Columbia was Aubry's first stint with Canada's Senior National Team.  She competed with the 2003 Canadian Development Women's National Team during the summer of 2003 in Daegu, Korea.

Aubry averaged 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as one of Nebraska's top reserves as a true freshman for the Huskers in 2003-04.  She played all 30 games for the 18-12 Huskers and averaged more than 18 minutes per contest.
