Huskers to Face Canadian Under-19 National Team

Lincoln? The Nebraska soccer team will wrap up its 2004 spring season on Friday night when the Huskers take on the Canadian Under-19 National Team at 7 p.m. at the Abbott Sports Complex.

The Huskers have gone 3-2-1 during the spring season and will look to cap the spring on a winning note. Most recently, Nebraska picked up wins over Denver (2-0) and Southern California (1-0) last Saturday in 45-minute halves against each team at the Abbott Sports Complex.

The Canadian Under-19 team has trained in Lincoln over the past week, playing contests against Southern California, Denver and Purdue through the week and will wrap up its training camp against the Huskers.

Current Nebraska freshman Brittany Timko is a member of the Canadian Under-19 team and will spend time on the field for both teams on Friday.

Nebraska defeated the Canada U-19 team 2-0 in an exhibition contest last spring in South Bend, Ind. The Huskers also tied the Canadian Under-17 National Team on the first day of training camp during a 2003 fall exhibition contest.
