DALLAS, Texas ? Nebraska first baseman Curtis Ledbetter (Lawrence, Kan.) was honored Tuesday, as he was selected as the Big 12's Co-Player of the Week for the week of April 13-19.
Ledbetter enjoyed his best week of the season as the Huskers defeated then-10th ranked Wichita State and Missouri twice in four contests. He hit .563 (9-for-16) with three doubles, two homers and five RBI while going 8-for-12 (.667) with three multiple-hit contests against the Tigers. He also extended a season-best hitting streak to 13 games with two safeties vs. MU in an 11-10 victory last Sunday, including a game-tying ninth inning double after matching his season high with a four-hit day in Saturday's loss. Ledbetter is the second Husker to earn a Big 12 honor this season, joining Zach Kroenke, who was the league's pitcher of the week after his one-hitter vs. Kansas.
