Enjoying warm temperatures on Friday, the Husker football team worked out in full pads in Memorial Stadium for a little more than two hours. Head Coach Bill Callahan said, "The team is making steady progress."
More than 800 high school and college coaches were in town for the first annual coaches clinic hosted by Coach Callahan and his staff. Coach Callahan will address the coaches this evening as will other members of the Husker coaching staff. On Saturday, the coaches have the option of attending an FCA breakfast featuring Congressman Tom Osborne in the morning and the clinic will conclude with Saturday’s practice.
The team will practice in the stadium again on Saturday and will have some situational scrimmage stations as they work on every aspect of the game. Coach Callahan said they will work on all phases of the game, including "short yardage, red zone sequence, goal line scrimmage, inside run drills, 7-on-7, perimeter passing game and the kicking game."
