Elmwood Park, N.J. ? The Nebraska bowling team stands in second place after two days of the NCAA Northeast Challenge at Parkway Lanes Saturday afternoon.
The Huskers have compiled 3-2 records during each of the first two days of match play competition and are in second place in the six-team tournament with a 6-4 mark. NU has a total pinfall at 7,737 pins through the second of three days of competition. Individually, freshman Amanda Burgoyne paced the Huskers, averaging a 213 in Saturday’s five games.
Fairleigh Dickinson leads the field through two days, going 9-1 in head-to-head matches, three games up on the Huskers. The Knights also have the team’s highest pinfall with a total of 8,116. North Carolina A&T and Sacred Heart are tied for third with identical 5-5 records and New Jersey City University (4th ? 4-6 overall) and FDU II (0-10) round out the field.
The final day of the NCAA Northeast Challenge will be contest Sunday morning, beginning at 8a.m. (CST)
