Single-Game Ticket Prices Reduced for Red-Hot Husker Hoops

Lincoln -- The home court has proven a big advantage this season for the Nebraska men's basketball team, and several ticket options remain available for Husker fans to join in the action at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Nebraska is off to a 6-0 start on its home court, including wins over Arizona State and Tennessee, behind a balanced scoring attack and a defensive effort that has the Huskers ranked in the top 15 nationally in scoring defense and field-goal percentage defense. The Huskers own an eight-game home-court winning streak dating back to last season, their longest home winning streak since taking 11 straight at the Devaney Center from 1996-97 to 1997-98.

Single-game reserved bench seats serve as one of the best and most economical choices for Husker fans to see all the action. Reserved upper bench seats for the remaining three non-conference games (Bethune-Cookman, Dec. 20; Lipscomb, Dec. 22; St. Francis (Pa.), Jan. 6) will cost just $8 per ticket, while all reserved upper bench tickets to Big 12 Conference games will be reduced to an outstanding single-game value of either $10 or $15 per ticket, down from the original prices of $20 and $25.

The price reduction for single-game reserved bench seats leaves the average cost for all eight league games at just $12.50 per seat.

"We want to be able to allow as many fans, and even whole families, to enjoy college basketball and to see the program that we are building," said NU Executive Associate A.D. Marc Boehm. "The pricing of these tickets will hopefully give more families that wouldn't normally have the opportunity, a chance to watch some outstanding basketball. At the same time, they will become part of a Devaney Center crowd that provides a tremendous home-court advantage for our team."

Reserved upper bench single-game ticket prices for the Colorado (Wednesday, Jan. 14), Baylor (Wednesday, Jan. 21), Kansas State (Wednesday, Feb. 18) and Iowa State (Saturday, Feb. 28) matchups will be just $10, while reserved bench seats for the Oklahoma (Sunday, Feb. 1), Missouri (Saturday, Feb. 7), Kansas (Sunday, Feb. 15) and Texas Tech (Tuesday, Feb. 24) contests will cost only $15.

Reserved C-level plastic chairbacks will also be available at an average of $22 per ticket. All single-game tickets for Big 12 games will go on sale on Jan. 5, 2004.

Fans can still purchase the $99 reserved upper bench season ticket, for an average cost of only $9 per game for the 11 remaining home games.

"These prices are among the best values in major college basketball anywhere in the country," said NU Assistant A.D. for Ticket Marketing John Anderson. "There is going to be some fantastic basketball played at the Devaney Center down the stretch and we are pleased to make these ticket prices so attractive for our fans."

To purchase tickets, fans can log onto Huskers.com or call the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8BIGRED. Single-game tickets can also be purchased at the Devaney Center beginning 90 minutes before tipoff.
