Lincoln -- One week after setting a Green Bay Packer record with 192 yards on Monday night against Philadephia, Ahman Green turned in another 100-yard day to lead Green Bay to an important win at Tampa Bay. Green rushed for 109 yards on 21 carries, including the go-ahead touchdown with 4:47 remaining, as the Packers evened their record at 5-5. It was the former Huskers' seventh 100-yard rushing day this season, which ties the team record held by Green and Hall of Famer Jim Taylor (1962) Green ranks second in the NFL with 1,172 rushing yards.
Green Bay and the rest of the NFC are chasing Carolina, which leads the conference with an 8-2 record after defeating Washingon 20-17. For the Panthers, Mike Minter had four tackles, while Mike Rucker, who was tied for the NFL lead in sacks, was held to one tackle but knocked down a pair of passes, as Washington was held to 181 yards of total offense.
In Chicago, Grant Wistrom had six tackles, as the Rams overcame an 11-point deficit to defeat Chicago, 23-21, and improve to 7-3 and tie Seattle, a 35-14 winner over Detroit for first in the NFC West. Josh Brown was perfect on all five extra points for the Seahawks and improved to 24-of-24 on extra points for the year, while he has also connected on 15-of-19 field goals.
In Buffalo, the suprising Houston Texans improved to 4-6 on the season with a 12-10 win, as Jay Foreman had seven tackles and helped hold Buffalo without an offensive touchdown, while place-kicker Kris Brown connected on field goals of 41 and 34 yards to improve to 10-of-13 in that category.
Currently, Nebraska leads all Big 12 schools with 32 former players on NFL rosters a total that ranks among the leaders for all schools.
