Lincoln -- Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson announced Friday that men's basketball season ticket packages are now available, including one that allows Husker fans an outstanding value to see all men's home games at the Bob Devaney Sports Center for just $99.
"It is important to me and to the future of this program that we give as many people as possible exposure to our program and to Big 12 basketball," Pederson said. "I believe that we have made this very affordable while at the same time providing unprecedented competition on the court."
An upper bench season ticket will cost only $99 for 19 games (two exhibition and 17 regular season) during 2003-04, $74 less than the cost for the same season ticket last year ($173) for 17 total games. That price reduction equates to a 42.3 percent lower cost to season ticket holders, with average ticket prices being reduced nearly in half from $10.17 to $5.21 per game for season ticket holders.
Single-game tickets for Husker non-conference games will go on sale on Nov. 10, prior to NU's first exhibition game of the year. Fans purchasing season tickets for the upper bench area will have even greater savings, as purchasing single-game tickets for all 19 contests would cost $261, providing season ticket holders with a $162 discount.
Along with upper bench season tickets, C-level reserved chairback season tickets (plastic, rows 19-28) are available for $199 in 2003-04. The cost is $8 less than the 17-game total cost in 2002-03. The average season ticket price for reserved chairbacks will be $10.47 per game, compared to $12.17 per game last year. Single-game reserved chairbacks for all 19 games would cost $299, saving season ticket holders $100.
Along with the C-level options, courtside seating is available for the first time ever at the Devaney Center. Season-ticket holders can purchase the courtside seating at a premium rate.
For the second straight year, season ticket holders can enjoy the ease of renewing online at Huskers.com. Season ticket packages can also be purchased by visiting the NU Ticket Office at 625 Stadium Drive, adjacent to Memorial Stadium below the parking garage, or by calling 1-800-8BIGRED. Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Marketing John Anderson said Nebraska fans will have an outstanding value this season with some of the top teams in the nation set to play at the Devaney Center.
"These tickets are reasonably priced," Anderson said. "For $99, our fans can enjoy great college basketball at the Devaney Center, which includes games against Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas Tech, South Florida, Arizona State and Tennessee. That is great family entertainment."
Nebraska starts its season with an exhibition on Nov. 10 against Alaska-Fairbanks and begins the regular season with a Nov. 22 meeting against Fairleigh Dickinson. Twelve lettermen, including four starters, will be back and joined by four scholarship newcomers in 2003-04. The Huskers return more than 85 percent of their scoring and rebounding from last year, and will have a healthy Jake Muhleisen back in the rotation along with 2002-03 team MVP Andrew Drevo.
