Huskers Enjoy Light Friday Workout

Lincoln - The Nebraska football team went through a brief conditioning workout for the varsity, while the redshirt freshmen participated in a live scrimmage for almost an hour on the Memorial Stadium FieldTurf on Friday afternoon.

Nebraska Head Coach Frank Solich said he was pleased with his team's enthusiasm on Friday and throughout the week of practices in preparation for the Southern Miss game on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 6:45 p.m. in Hattiesburg, Miss.

"I think today probably helped a lot of us in terms of getting some guys some snaps when they've been running scout team the whole time," Solich said. "They had a little fun with that. We want to keep progressing and just keep getting better. That is something that we have talked about from day one, but it is not always easy to do when you have an off-week. I think this team actually tried to progress and get better during this off-week, and that is always a good sign."

The Huskers will take Saturday off before returning to the practice field on Sunday afternoon to continue their preparations for Southern Miss.
