Lincoln -- The Nebraska football team practiced in half-pads for two hours at Memorial Stadium Tuesday in preparation for Saturday's 2:36 p.m. kickoff against Oklahoma State.
"We went through a half-pad practice today and got a lot of teamwork done," Solich said. "I thought it was good for us. We worked again on all phases of special teams play. We'll go in shorts (Wednesday) so that will give them a little bit of a break from the pads, but we'll continue to polish teamwork and of course special teams."
Solich released an updated depth chart at NU's weekly press conference Tuesday. While many positions remained the same, senior I-back Josh Davis moved up one spot and will get his first career start on Saturday. However, Solich said that at least three I-backs will see action against the Cowboys.
Solich also said that the coaches are still looking for someone to handle kickoffs.
"We'd like to have a guy, when called upon, to not allow a return," Solich said. "There's so many great return guys in the conference and in the country that you don't want to give them any opportunities, so a guy that can kick it high and deep is what you are looking for."
Nebraska returns to practice on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. It will be the last time this week that NU players are available for interviews.
