First-Round Play at NCAA Women's Central Regional Postponed Until Friday

Lincoln -- Thursday's opening round of the NCAA Women's Central Regional Golf Championships at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln has been postponed because of rain. Heavy rain began falling overnight in the Lincoln area and continued through mid-day.

The tournament will resume on Friday with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m., with plans to play both the first and second rounds. Tournament officials have scheduled 36 holes of continuous play for Friday in order to get the regional back on schedule for Saturday's third and final round.
