Rasile Named Gymnast of the Week For Second Time of Season

Lincoln, Neb. -- For the second time this season, junior Josh Rasile of Phoenix, Ariz., was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week. Rasile helped lead the No. 9 Huskers to a season-high team score of 213.575, while claiming individual titles on three events. Earning career-high scores on the floor exercise (9.05), and still rings (9.65) Rasile also tied his season-high mark on the vault (9.50).

Rasile was last named MPSF Gymnast of the Week on Feb. 4, after scoring his first score of 9.50 on the vault this season against No. 1 Oklahoma.

In the national poll released today by Troester.com, Rasile stands second in the nation on vault with a two-score average of 9.475, and ninth on the still rings (9.462). Only Daniel Furney of Oklahoma stands ahead of Rasile on the vault with a two-score average of 9.50.

Rasile performed all new routines against Air Force last Friday night and hopes to improve on his scores this Sunday, March 23, against No. 10 Minnesota.

The Huskers will meet the Golden Gophers in their final regular-season meet set for 2 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
