Simpson Named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

DALLAS -- Nebraska junior Richelle Simpson was named Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week for the third time this season, the conference office announced Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Simpson recorded a career-high 39.625 to win the all-around in Nebraska's win at Ohio State. Her all-around total is the second-highest in the Big 12 this season behind teammate A.J. Lamb's 39.750. Simpson also won two event titles with a 9.925 on vault and a 9.900 on floor exercise. She finished second on uneven bars with a 9.875 and balance beam with a 9.925.
