Lamb Named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

DALLAS -- Nebraska's A.J. Lamb was named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Lamb had a record-breaking performance in the Huskers' win over No. 5 Alabama. She set the school record in the all-around with a 39.75, which is the third-best mark in the nation this season and broke the all-around record originally held by former NCAA all-around champion Heather Brink at the Bob Devaney Center. She set the school record at the Devaney Center on floor exercise with a career-best 9.975.  In addition, Lamb and her teammate Richelle Simpson became the third and fourth Huskers, respectively, to score a perfect 10.0 on the vault. The perfect vaults marked the first time in school history that two gymnasts scored 10.0s in the same season, let alone the same meet.

The No. 4 Huskers will compete in a double dual with the men's gymnastics team against another Big 12 rival this week, when Oklahoma comes to the Bob Devaney Center on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
