The University of Nebraska continued to have dominating performance wrestling in open tournament. On January 4, 2003, Nebraska took home three first-place titles and two second-place finishes at DanaCollege.
The Huskers were led by freshman Matt Keller, who won the 125 pound weight class. Keller won all four of his matches via fall to raise his record to 20-2 with three first place finishes on the season.
B.J. Wright won his third individual title of the year defeating Bobby Mantel of MSNU, 9-6 at the 157 pound weight class. Marc Harwood was the final Husker to take an individual title winning the 149 pound weight class over Dustyn Azure of MSNU by fall in a time of 1:18.
Dominick Moyer earned a third place finished defeating Chris Smith of MSNU, 10-0 at 133 pounds and Brent Pankoke was the other Husker to finish third with his defeat of Kyle Fisher of MSNU, 6-2.
