Nebraska will veer from Big 12 action for the final time this season Friday, Oct. 11, as it takes on the Memphis Tigers at 7 p.m. at the Abbott Sports Complex. The Tigers are 4-5-1 on the season after losing a double-overtime heartbreaker to Tennessee-Martin, 3-2, Friday.
The Huskers return to conference play Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, in Ames, Iowa, when they take on the Iowa State Cyclones. ISU travels to Boulder, Colo. Friday to face the Colorado Buffs before meeting the Huskers. The Cyclones are are 5-5-1 on the season and 2-2-0 in Big 12 play.
Iowa State most recently defeated the two Oklahoma schools, downing OSU, 2-1, Friday, and OU, 2-1, in double overtime Sunday.
Nebraska has never faced Memphis and is 7-0-0 all-time against ISU. The Huskers have outscored the Cyclones, 34-2, in their seven meetings over the past seven years.
NU is looking to stop a three-game winless streak, after falling to Texas and Texas A&M last weekend, and earning a tie against Kansas on Sept. 29. The Huskers' last victory came at Missouri, 4-0, on Sept. 27. The Huskers have never gone three games without a win in school history. The last time Nebraska was swept in a weekend was during the 1997 season, at Texas and Texas A&M, where it dropped both games, 1-0.
