Nebraska Opens Big 12 Conference Play at Missouri and Kansas

The Nebraska soccer team has spent their first eight games preparing for the battles it will face in the Big 12 Conference. The Huskers begin its seventh season of Big 12 play this weekend on the road at Missouri Friday night and Kansas on Sunday afternoon.

NU is 17-0 all-time against the two teams combined. Nebraska defeated them both in Lincoln last season, dropping Missouri 5-1 and Kansas 2-0.

Missouri enters the contest with a 5-2-1 record on the season. Most recently the Tigers have faced Mississippi and Mississippi State. Mizzou fell to Ole Miss 2-1 in an overtime match Sunday, but defeated the 2001 SEC West Champs, MSU, 3-1.

Kansas will open its Big 12 season Friday at home against Colorado. The Jayhawks are 6-1-1 on the season with wins over Evansville, 2-0, and Oakland, 1-0, last weekend in the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic for their best start in school history.

KU is currently No. 2 in the Big 12 standings behind Oklahoma State with an .813 winning percentage. Missouri is sitting at No. 6 at .714.
