Huskers Fall To No. 4 Oklahoma, 81-47

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Jamie Talbert and Caton Hill each had 19 points and eight rebounds, and No. 4 Oklahoma clinched at least a tie for its third straight Big 12 title by beating Nebraska 81-47 on Saturday.

Stacey Dales had 14 points and eight assists and LaNeishea Caufield added 10 points as the Sooners (22-2, 12-1), won their eighth straight.

Alexa Johnson scored 14 for Nebraska (14-12, 4-9), which shot just 32 percent and committed 22 turnovers.

Oklahoma took control of the game by holding Nebraska scoreless for the final 6:12 of the first half and the first 2:37 of the second. The Sooners outscored the Huskers 17-0 during that time to take a 42-24 lead and Nebraska got no closer than 16 the rest of the way.

Talbert had scored in double figures just twice in the previous 14 games, but started quickly by scoring Oklahoma's first three baskets.

The Huskers led 19-18 after a jumper by Keasha Cannon with 9:29 left before halftime, then made only one basket after that.

Dales made a 3-pointer, a layup on a fast break and a jumper in the lane to turn the 19-18 deficit into a 25-19 lead. The Huskers made it a one-point game on a three-point play by Shannon Howell and a jumper by Johnson with 6:12 remaining.

Oklahoma got baskets from five players to outscore Nebraska 11-0 and take a 36-24 lead at halftime. Nebraska committed six turnovers and missed three shots in the final six minutes.

Hill, Dales and Talbert each scored to open the second half before Nebraska finally stopped the run with a basket by Johnson at the 17:23 mark.
