Huskers Win Fifth Regular Season Tournament

Las Vegas, Nev. -- The Nebraska women's bowling team captured their fifth tournament title of the season with a win at the Brunswick Coca-Cola Classic. The Huskers finished with a 13,162 pinfall, 663 pins ahead of second-place Wichita State.

Junior Kari Schwager placed second in the tournament with a 233.857 average and a pinfall of 1,637. Sophomore Shannon Pluhowsky took third with a 233.000 average and a 1,631 pinfall.

Seniors Christine Couvillon and Diandra Hyman finished in the eighth and ninth spots, respectively. Couvillon had a 215.429 average and a pinfall of 1,508, while Hyman had a 212.286 average and a 1,486 pinfall.
The Huskers will next be in action at the Hoosier Classic, Feb. 23-24, in Indianapolis, Ind.
