Three Huskers Named to NSCAA All-Central Regional Team

Three Nebraska soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Regional first team, the NSCAA announced on Tuesday. Husker senior midfielder Meghan Anderson, junior forward Christine Latham">Christine Latham and junior defender Breanna Boyd each earned the honor.

Anderson, a national player-of-the-year finalist, became Nebraska's all-time leading scorer with a goal at Oklahoma on Oct. 21. She finished the season with 34 points on 10 goals and 14 assists after becoming just the 29th Division I athlete to record both 40 career goals and 40 career assists. Anderson finished her career with 146 points on 48 goals and 50 assists.

Latham, the Big 12 Player of the Year, scored a conference-best 46 points on 18 goals and 10 assists. She scored at least one point in 19 of Nebraska's 23 contests, including six multiple-goal games. Also a national player-of-the-year finalist, Latham's 15 career multiple-goal games rank first in school history, while her 53 career goals put her in a tie for first on NU's all-time chart.

Boyd, a first-team all-conference selection in each of the past two seasons, helped the Huskers post a 1.16 goals-against average, while notching seven shutouts. Offensively, Boyd scored two goals and added two assists. She has started 47 consecutive games as a Husker defender.

Nebraska ended its season with a 4-0 loss at Portland in the NCAA Tournament's round of 16 on Nov. 24. Portland advanced to the Final Four, along with North Carolina, Santa Clara and Florida.
