LINCOLN, Neb. -- Seven Huskers were drafted in the NFL draft, including two second-rounders on Saturday, April 21, and five more on Sunday. Rush end Kyle Vanden Bosch was the first Husker chosen. He was the third pick of the second round by Arizona, the 34th pick overall. Center Dominic Raiola was also chosen in the second round. He was the 19th pick by Detroit, the 50th pick overall. More Huskers are expected to sign free-agent contracts in the upcoming week. The seven Huskers drafted are the most since seven were picked in the 1999 draft.
Nebraska led the Big 12 Conference in the number of players drafted with seven. Texas A&M and Kansas State tied for second place with six each. Iowa State and Texas had three to come in third. Oklahoma had two, while Texas Tech, Kansas, Missouri, and Baylor each had one player drafted. The NFL failed to choose any players from Colorado or Oklahoma State
