Boulder, Colo. -- Colorado took advantage of one of Nebraska's coldest-shooting nights of the season, as the Huskers fell 70-58 Tuesday evening in front of 7,845 fans at the Coors Event/Convention Center.
Nebraska was just 19-of-57 from the floor (.333) from the floor, including 4-of-16 from 3-point range in dropping to 10-12 overall and 3-5 in the Big 12. The 33 percent shooting tied NU's low for the season, also set against Southern Mississippi at the Hoop and Quill Classic in November.
"We never got into a rhythm offensively," Nebraska Head Coach Danny Nee said. "We weren't able to get our guards involved in the game early."
Larry Florence paced the Huskers with 17 points, while junior center Kimani Ffriend recorded his fifth double-double of the season, and fourth in the last seven games, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite shooting 38 percent from the field, Colorado (13-9, 4-6) placed three players in double figures, as Nick Mohr finished with 15 points, while Jaquay Walls and Jamahl Mosley added 14 and 10 points, respectively. Mosley also had nine boards as CU outrebounded NU 42-38.
Nebraska continues on the road with a Saturday night game at No. 21 Iowa State. The Cyclones are tied for the league lead at 7-1 and stand 19-3 overall heading into Wednesday's game at Missouri.
