Women Husker Bowlers Finish Second in Atlanta

Atlanta, Ga. -- The Nebraska women's bowling team finished second behind Morehead State this weekend at the Brunswick Southern Classic in Atlanta, Georgia. The Huskers completed the tournament with 11,584 points behind Morehead State's 11,759. In three matches this season, the Huskers have two tournament titles and a runner-up finish to their name.

The Huskers were competing without their top bowler and defending Bowler-of-the-Year Diandra Hyman, who was competing for Team USA in the Dominican Republic.

Husker freshman Shannon Pluhowsky won her third tournament of the season, leading the field with a 241 average for eight games.

The next competition for the Huskers is the Great Lakes Collegiate Classic in Chicago on November 11-12.
