Abos Sanchez Win Streak Stops in the Men's Tennis ITA All-American Championships

Lincoln -- Nebraska senior tennis player, Jorge Abos Sanchez's win streak was broken by Illinois' Amer Delic in the first round of the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships, 6-1, 6-4.

This was Sanchez's first loss in the five-day tournament bringing his fall record to 6-1, the team's best individual mark.

In other men's tennis action, Husker senior Kai Rieke and freshman Jose Rivera will compete in the singles division in the 2000 Sprint PCS Fall Tennis Classic. The event, which is hosted by Drake University, will begin on Friday and last through Sunday. There are three singles flights and two doubles flights. Last year Rieke won the singles division and will look to repeat his title this year.

Other teams competing in Des Moines, Iowa, are Creighton, Drake, Marquette and Southwest Missouri State.
