Husker Tennis Action Begins at Harvard Invitational

Cambridge, Mass . -- The Nebraska men's tennis team will open its 2000 fall season at the individual-only Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass., on Friday, Sept. 22. Rutgers, St. Johns, Alabama, MIT, along with Harvard, and Nebraska will be participating in the tournament.

Head coach Kerry McDermott has high expectations for his 2000-01 team, which consists of six returning letterwinners from last years 7-13 squad, four of which are seniors. Two recruited freshman and two walk-ons complete the rest of the Husker squad.

McDermott is also anticipating a top-40 ranking in the national polls by mid-year, and is also eyeing the schools first ever NCAA tournament bid.
