Huskers Finish 10th at Mary Fossum Invite

East Lansing, Mich. -The Nebraska women's golf team finished tied for 10th place Sunday at the weather-shortened 2000 Mary Fossum Invite in East Lansing, Mich., with a score of 315. The first 36 holes of the tournament were cancelled Saturday because of flooded greens.

Minnesota took the team title with an eight-over 296, while Kim Benedict from Michigan and Jenny Bruun of Minnesota tied for the individual title with a two-under 70.

NU was led by Lincoln High-product Sarah Sasse who carded a five-over 77, putting her in a tie for 22nd place. Junior Amanda Sutcliffe and senior Amy Roux finished in a tie for 34th with six-over 78s. Junior Catha Fogelberg and sophomore Amanda Krane rounded out the Husker lineup with scores of 82 and 83, respectively.

The Huskers will return to the links on Oct. 2-3 for the Big 12 Conference Preview in Waco, Texas.
