Huskers to Face Butler in Minneapolis in NCAA Regional

Lincoln -- The sixth-ranked Nebraska (47-15) baseball team earned the No. 1 seed at the NCAA Tournament Regional in Minneapolis and will face fourth-seeded Butler (31-26) Friday, May 26, at 1 p.m. at Siebert Field on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Minnesota (37-22) is the region's No. 2 seed and will play third-seeded Wichita State (42-19) on May 26, at 7 p.m. The two losers of Friday's games will play at Noon on Saturday, May 27, in the double-elimination format, while Friday's winners will square off at 4 p.m. Fans wanting to purchase tickets for the regional can call the Minnesota ticket office at 1-800-U-Gopher or (612) 624-8080. All-session passes are $48 dollars and individual tickets can be purchased for $8 apiece.

The Huskers will be making their fifth NCAA appearance in school history (also 1979, 1980, 1985 and 1999) and are making consecutive NCAA trips for the first time since 1979-80. The Big 12 Tournament champions, Nebraska has won five straight games and are 29-4 since April 4.
