Huskers fall to 0-2 in Big 12 Conference

Boulder, Colo. -- The No. 65 Nebraska men's tennis team came up short against conference rival Colorado, 6-1, on Sunday. The loss left the Huskers with an 0-2 record in the Big 12 Conference and a 5-4 overall record.

Colorado captured their first conference win and improved to 7-1overall. After winning the singles point, NU was swept by the Buffs in all six singles matches. Huskers Jorge Abos Sanchez, Kai Rieke, Adnan Hadzialic, Fungai Tongoona, and Andrew Weiss were all defeated in straight sets. Juan Hamdan lost in three sets to Arthur Rusiecki, 2-6, 6-3,6-4.

Nebraska gained the doubles point with victories from No. 2 doubles, Weiss/ Rieke who beat Knepper/Winter, 8-1. And Huskers No. 3 doubles team of Haith/Hadzialic defeated Hunter/Rusiecki, 8-5.

The Huskers will be looking for their first conference win this Saturday, March 11 against the Kansas Jayhawks at the Woods Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
