Huskers Claim Junior Olympic Titles

Lincoln -- Two members of the Nebraska rifle team claimed titles at the National Junior Olympic Rifle Championships over the weekend. Competing as individuals, several Huskers placed in the top 10 in both rifles. Terim Richards, representing the state of Nebraska, took the air rifle title accumulating a match total of 875.3 points. Colorado native Amanda Trujillo, a freshman on the Nebraska squad, took sixth with 867.4 points, while Nicole Allaire, representing New Jersey, finished 12th with 767 points.

In the three position sport rifle, Allaire won the event with a match total of 1,253.1 points. Trujillo finished 29th with 1,107 points while Victoria Ridge, finished 33rd with 1,099 points.
