Manhattan, Kan. (AP) -- Galen Morrison scored a career-high 27 points to lead Kansas State to a 97-79 victory over Nebraska on Saturday in the Big 12 conference opener for both teams.
Morrison, a transfer from Iowa Western Community College, made 7-of-9 3-pointers as Kansas State (8-4) took a 25-point half-time lead.
The Wildcats have won five of their last six games against Nebraska (7-7), which saw a three-game winning streak end.
Kansas State committed 20 turnovers but shot 55 percent from the floor while holding the Cornhuskers to 41 percent.
Five Wildcats scored in double figures. Cortez Groves, who averages 14.8 points per game, scored 24.
Cary Cochran and Steffon Bradford each scored 17 for Nebraska.
With Morrison leading the way, the Wildcats made a season high 15 3- pointers and shot 60 percent beyond the arc.
Kansas State led by as many as 28 in the first half as Morrison sparked the Wildcats with 19 points. Morrison made his first four 3-pointers as the Wildcats stormed to a 21-13 lead.
Nebraska shot 22 percent from the floor and committed nine turnovers in the first half. The Wildcats went on a 15-0 run with 5:54 to go and led at the half 52-27.
