Husker Bowlers Finish Second at Hoosier Classic

Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Nebraska women's bowling team finished in second place over the weekend at the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis. The second-place showing is NU's second top-four finish in the opening two weeks, as the Huskers placed fourth in the Texas Connection Classic in Houston last weekend.

The Cornhuskers had the highest qualifying score of the 23 competing teams in the opening round, with a score of 8,020 points, followed by Morehead State (7818) and Central Missouri State (7733). In the finals NU was defeated by Central Missouri State, which was seeded third, by a score of 4-2.

Individually, sophomore Diandra Hyman led NU and the tournament with a 195 average as she knocked down 1,755 pins over the two-day event. .

The Huskers' next competition will be held on Oct. 23-24 in Atlanta
