NU Ends Regular Season, Looks to Big 12 Tournament

Lincoln - The University of Nebraska women's tennis team ended its regular season conference schedule last week with a 16-8 record and a 4-7 Big 12 mark. The Huskers will now have a week off before traveling to College Station, Texas, for the Big 12 Championships April 29-May 1, at the Texas A&M Varsity Tennis Center.

NU Head Coach Scott Jacobson is pleased with his team's progress so far this year.

"This team has improved so much from September to April," Jacobson said. "I have not coached or seen a team improve so much in just one year."

Jacobson feels his team will be able to perform at a high level at the Big 12 tournament.

"Looking to the Big 12's, we just have to go down there and do our best," Jacobson said. "There is not one player on this team that will give less than 100 percent."

Noetzel Enters the Top 100
Junior Sandra Noetzel will lead the Huskers into the Big 12 Tournament riding a 15-match win streak at No. 1 singles and No. 74 national ranking in the latest ITA rankings released April 20. Last week, she became the all-time winningest singles player in Nebraska history with a 6-0, 6-0, victory over No. 57 Katja Kovac of Baylor.
