Huskers Down Texas A&M, 62-54

College Station, Texas - Nicole Kubik had 20 points and five assists as the Huskers broke a two-game losing streak with a 62-54 victory over Texas A&M in front of 1,491 fans at Reed Arena Wednesday evening

Kubik had 12 of her 20 points after intermission as the Huskers built a double figure lead and held on to improve to 17-9 overall and 6-7 in the Big 12. The win was NU's first Big 12 road victory of the season.

The Aggies trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half before struggling back to trim the Husker lead to three points within 49-46 with 4:37 in the second half. The Huskers responded as Charlie Rogers scored four straight points to push the lead to seven at 53-46. The Aggies got within four at 58-54 on a Kera Alexander jumper with 43 seconds left, but Kubik hit a pair of free throws and converted a steal into a hoop in the final second for the winning margin.

Alexander led the Aggies with 22 points, and Prissy Sharpe added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Aggies, who fell to 7-16 overall and 2-11 in league play. Brooke Schwartz and Charlie Rogers joined Kubik in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The Huskers will host Big 12 leader Texas Tech Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m The game will be televised on NETV and a full out is expected at the Devaney Center.
