Huskers Escape With 75-72 Win over Drake

Des Moines, Iowa -- Nicole Kubik had 24 points as No. 23 Nebraska rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to defeat Drake, 75-72, at the Knapp Center Thursday evening.

Kubik had 15 of her 24 points in the second stanza, including the Huskers' final nine points. Nebraska, which trailed 34-27 at halftime, outscored the Bulldogs 48-38 after intermission. The junior guard from Cambridge also has six assists and seven steals as the Huskers improved to 6-1 on the season.

Brooke Schwartz and Charile Rogers also finished in double figures, chipping in 14 points apiece, while pulling down 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively. The Huskers, who shot only 38 percent, had a commanding 55-31 rebounding edge and forced Drake into 29 turnovers.

Allyson Glazebrook paced four Bulldogs (2-3) in double figures with 14 points.

The Huskers return to action this Sunday, Dec.6 as the Huskers travel to Omaha to face instate rival Creighton University beginning at 2 p.m.
