Notes:No. 10 Nebraska extended a school record with its eighth consecutive shutout with a 3-0 win over Kentucky in front of 348 fans at the Abbott Sports Complex. The Huskers closed a perfect eight-game homestand by outscoring their opponents by a cumulative score of 40-0. Nebraska also stretched its home winning streak to 25 games. Senior All-America goalkeeper Rebecca Hornbacher preserved the shutout with three spectacular saves, stretching Nebraska's streak of consecutive scoreless minutes to 757:29. Senior All-America midfielder Kari Uppinghouse opened the scoring with a blast from 45 yards out against the wind that sailed over a leaping Carrie Kuhnell in goal for the Wildcats to give Nebraska a 1-0 lead at 14:19. Uppinghouse scored again off an assist from Kim Engesser at 49:57 to give the Huskers a 2-0 cushion. Uppinghouse scored four goals in the weekend series with Kentucky and San Diego and extended her streak to five straight games with at least one goal. She also earned Big 12 Conference Player-of-the-Week honors. Lindsay Eddleman closed the scoring with her goal at 86:47. The Huskers controlled the action throughout the game, attempting 19 shots, including eight shots on goal, while holding Kentucky to 10 shots, including three on goal.
