Notes: No. 5 Nebraska and No. 9 Texas A&M dueled in a classic Big 12 Conference soccer showdown as the Aggies came away with a 1-0 win in front of an Aggie Soccer Complex record crowd of 1,368. Nebraska came out on the attack, controlling the action throughout the first half. Both defenses held behind excellent play in goal by Nebraska's Rebecca Hornbacher and Texas A&M's Melanie Wilson. The Aggies finally broke through the Husker defense at 52:31 when Sharon Pickering found the back of the net off an assist from Alison Peters. Although the Huskers outshot the Aggies, 14-8, the Texas A&M's defense held the rest of the way. The loss dropped the Huskers to 1-2 in the Big 12 Conference and 4-2 overall. Nebraska's first back-to-back losses since losing at Southern California, 4-0, Oct. 27, 1995, and at UCLA, 1-0 in double overtime, Oct. 30, 1995. Nebraska fell to No. 11 in the NSCAA/Umbro Top 25 after the loss, while Texas A&M climbed to No. 4. Nebraska 7, Iowa State 0.
