Notes: All-America midfielder Kari Uppinghouse scored the game-winning goal, her first goal of the season, at the 52:16 mark to propel the No. 6 Huskers to a 2-1 win over Southern California in front of 776 fans at the Abbott Sports Complex. The win extended Nebraska,s home winning streak to 17 games and was the Huskers, 21st consecutive regular-season victory. Nebraska improved to 2-0-0 on the season, while USC dropped to 1-1-0. Uppinghouse,s unassisted goal gave the Huskers a 2-0 lead early in the second half, but USC midfielder Kim Clark,s goal on a direct free kick at 67:09 narrowed the gap. Nebraska played solid defense throughout the game, led by the goalkeeping of third-team All-American Rebecca Hornbacher, who recorded seven saves. Freshman midfielder/defender Christine Gluck scored the first goal of her career at the 28:50 mark to give the Huskers a 1-0 lead.
