Kari Mangan became the first women's golfer in Husker history to capture Nebraska's Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Year Award in 1985-86. A two-time All-Big Eight selection on the course, Mangan was also a standout in the classroom as an accounting major. The Omaha native competed for the Huskers at the Big Eight Championships on four occasions, including her freshman year when Nebraska won the 1983 Big Eight title.
