Coach Jerry Fisher and junior Shelly Godeken helped lead Nebraska to their second Big Eight Conference team title in 1983. Godeken, a native of Alma, Neb., captured All-Big Eight honors for the first time in her career, before adding a second award as a senior in 1984. Godeken was joined by teammates Cathy Nelson and Jan Stanard in winning All-Big Eight honors in 1983.
