Manhattan, Kan. -- The Nebraska women's tennis team picked up their third loss of the season against Big 12 opponent Kansas State, 4-3, on Sunday in Manhattan, Kan.

Nebraska got off to a rocky start by losing two out of three doubles matches, as junior Katarina Balan (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) and senior Amy Frisch (Crescent, Ky.) picked up the Huskers' only double win at the No. 2 spot, winning 8-6. Balan and Frisch teamed up for the first time this year, while freshmen Leslie Harvey (San Diego, Calif.) and Elissa Kinard (Charleston, S.C.) took over the No. 1 spot, but lost 8-5 to Alena Jecminkova and Eva Novotna. The Wildcats grabbed the doubles point, which would prove to be the winning point of the match.

The Huskers and Wildcats split the six singles points. The Wildcats took the wins at the top of the lineup, while the Huskers grabbed the lower half.
A bright spot for the Huskers was at the No. 4 spot, where Frisch picked up her 16th win this year defeating Kathy Chuda, 7-5, 7-5. The match with Chuda was one of Frisch's closest wins despite her only loss against Roberta Spencer of Texas A&M.

The Huskers are now 15-3 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12. The Huskers next dual will be April 8, against Oklahoma at Cather-Pound Courts at 10 a.m.
