Nebraska offense returns in win over Colorado
Husker sophomore Nancy Meendering (Hull, Iowa) keyed an offensive attack by recording a match-high 18 kills to lead the third-ranked University of Nebraska volleyball team to a three-game victory over Colorado, 15-7, 15-5, 15-3, in front of 4,134 in the Nebraska Coliseum on Saturday.
Husker sophomore Nancy Meendering (Hull, Iowa) keyed an offensive attack by recording a match-high 18 kills to lead the third-ranked University of Nebraska volleyball team to a three-game victory over Colorado, 15-7, 15-5, 15-3, in front of 4,134 in the Nebraska Coliseum on Saturday.
With the victory, Nebraska (13-0 in the Big 12) held on to its seat atop the Big 12 standings, while Colorado (11-2) slipped into third place behind Texas (11-1).
Meendering did it all for the Huskers Wednesday night. She got off to a hot start in the first game by recording six kills on 12 attacks. Her most dominating performance, however, came in the second frame as she pounded out 10 kills and served four straight points to give lift the Huskers to a 5-3 lead. The 6-1 rightside hitter finished the match with 10 digs, four assists, two service aces and six block assists.
